The planning for the U-Make-It Race/Windridge fund raiser, scheduled for 12 June, and chaired by Mike Denholm, is proceeding nicely.Race day will include the U-Make-It race, the sale of burgers, and sail boat rides at $15.00 individual and $25.00 family. To date we have 26 sponsors pledging $100.00 each with more sponsors yet to be contacted. We have 8 confirmed entries and more probable.
The Windridge Therapeutic Equestrian Center is a phenomenal organization and facility. They serve those who have diseases and birth defects that affect brain function and the lives of their families. Operated by a loving and caring staff and many volunteers, they offer a unique and effective therapeutic service in our area of Texas.
This is rapidly developing into a big event with the distinct possibility of 40 to 50 sponsors, up to 15 entries and with 100 or more spectators.
How can you help? – I’m glad you asked!Mike will need support from any and all LYC members: parking, registration, sail boat rides, administering the race, chase boats, cooking and serving burgers etc. Please call him to offer your help. You can print the flier you get by E-Mail and display it at your business and anywhere else you can put one.You can make a boat and enter the race – it’s for a great cause.Talk it up to anyone you think might be interested – as a contributing sponsor, a boat builder and racer, or as a spectator. If possible, get one sponsorfor $100.00 from the company you work for or from a friend or acquaintance. All proceeds will go to Windridge. Pete Pattullo’s two girls are reigning champs of the race and are entering again this year so enter and give ‘em a run for their money!
