On Saturday, September 18th, the Longview Yacht Club will host the Shreveport and Tyler Yacht Clubs at Lake O' the Pines for the Triad Sunfish Regatta. Registration is $25 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch. ($10 for non-entry meals.) Perpetual trophy will go to the winning yacht club, and individual trophies will be awarded too. The club has four Sunfish that can be reserved for the race - first-come-first-served - so talk to Al if you are interested.

The Longview Yacht Club will offer a 6-week sailing course starting Monday, September 13th and continuing every Monday for a total of six weeks. The first five classes will include classroom instruction while the last class will be a sailboat race on Lake O' the Pines. Course material covers terminology, sailboat parts, points of sail, aerodynamics and physics, knots, sailboat safety, rules of the road, and racing.
